Chapter 9

The Restoration

of All Things

As we have been studying the history of Israel and the Church, we notice that both Israel and the Church have lost so much of the Lord’s original blessings and inheritances. Israel was scattered from her homeland for many centuries, and many Jewish people still feel that God has forsaken them. And the Church has lost so much of its zeal, its “first love” devotion to Yeshua, its supernatural power in the Holy Spirit, its Jewish roots, and its reflecting the Lord’s character. Peter spoke about a day in the future when all things would be restored.

[The Lord Jesus] must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets (Acts 3:21).

Notice that the Lord Yeshua must stay in Heaven until that which was lost, stolen, or forgotten is restored. This means that without this restoration to Israel and to the Church, the Lord cannot return. Therefore, we must earnestly desire all of these last days’ restorations to take place, so that our Beloved can come quickly to us! Let’s look at some key areas where restoration must take place.

1. The Kingdom will be restored to Israel

After His resurrection, the Lord appeared to the disciples and spoke about the Kingdom of God for 40 days. The disciples then asked Him:

Lord, are You at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel? (Acts 1:6)

The Lord answers this way:

It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:7-8).

Notice that the Lord did not say that the kingdom would not be restored to Israel. He only told them that the timing of this restoration was not for them to know. They had a holy assignment to do on the earth, and the Father alone would determine the timing of the restoration of the kingdom to Israel.

When this appointed time comes, the Son of God will not remain in Heaven any longer, but will come back to Earth, to restore the kingdom to Israel. Here are a few passages that speak of the last days’ restoration of Israel as the center of the Lord’s Kingdom on Earth:

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains…. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths. The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem” (Isaiah 2:2-3).

On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem…. On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter.
